Develop an Emergency Plan

Discuss with household members danger of fire, serve weather, earthquakes, and other emergencies.

Post emergency telephone numbers near telephones.

Take basic First Aid and CPR.

Design an Escape Plan

Draw a floor plan of your residence indicating location of emergency supplies, doors, windows, stairways, and large furniture.

 Educate about Fire Safety

Teach family members to stay low to the ground when escaping from a fire.

Install smoke detectors and check regularly.

Check electrical outlets. Do not overload.

Purchase a fire extinguisher.
