Adult CPR:
Learn how
to recognize symptoms of a heart attack; what to do about
them; when and how to do CPR on adults (12 years of age or
older), the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED);
and unconscious and conscious choking rescue.

Babysitter
Training:
Introduces
individuals to the role, responsibility and relationship of
the babysitter to the parents and child. The course teaches
how to handle emergencies, illness and when the child is
upset. The student learns how to prevent accidents, what to
expect from parents and how to feed, play with and care for
youngsters. Recommended for ages 11-14.

California Child Care:
This
15-hour course meets the requirements for California Childcare
Licensing. The course includes Adult, Infant/Child CPR, First
Aid and Preventing Disease Transmission.

Community First Aid and
Safety:
Teaches
adult, infant and child one-rescuer CPR the use of an
Automated External Defibrillator (AED); rescue breathing; and choking emergency rescues. Also, recognizing
the symptoms of a heart attack. Basic First Aid teaches how to
deal with cuts, bruises, bone and muscle injuries, shock
bleeding and other first aid emergencies.

CPR for the
Professional Rescuer (CPR/FPR):
This
course is for those who “have a duty to respond” in emergency
situations and need to use more advanced techniques. Included
are basic skills for adult, infants and children; performing
two rescuers CPR; using rescue-breathing devices and the use
of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

First Aid:
This
course teaches to recognize and care for victims of injury or
sudden illness. It includes control of bleeding, how to care
for muscle, bone and joint injuries, sudden illness and burns.

First Aid for Public
Safety Personnel (Title 22):
This
course meets the First Aid requirements for lifeguards and
other public safety personnel as mandated by Title 22 of the
California Code of Regulations.

Basic Aid Training
(BAT):
This
course introduces children to safety information and first aid
procedures for breathing difficulties, bleeding poisoning,
burns, shock and other emergencies. They will learn basic
first aid skills to respond to emergencies and treat common
injuries.

Pet First Aid:
Pet First
Aid is the immediate and temporary care given to an injured
animal until it can be taken to a professional veterinarian
for more definite medical care and attention The course is
designed to protect both pet owners and their pets from
further harm, injury, or suffering during emergencies, by
teaching prompt, effective actions to taken when dealing with
an injured pet.

Lifeguarding:
This
weeklong course is generally taught during Spring Break. It
includes all of the Fundamentals of Lifeguarding, as well as
Title 22 and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. This
comprehensive course covers all aspects of lifeguarding.
(There is a pre-session test that must be passed prior to
taking this course).
